About Mary

I'm Mary Rosewood, and I love words.

I've loved words since I was young. By the time I was 10, I had read all the Nancy Drew books and—after convincing the librarian I was old enough to read adult fiction—started on Agatha Christie mysteries. I also published a small newspaper, The Bunny Times. In high school I studied journalism, then put together newsletters for several nonprofit organizations in Seattle, and finally landed on a journalism course in London to receive my master's degree in International Journalism.

Speaking of London . . .

I love to travel, too. I lived in England for 2 years and in Israel for 3 years and traveled everywhere in between. I stayed for a week in a lighthouse near Sequim, Washington, hiked in Yellowstone National Park, and explored Los Angeles on foot. I can tell you, it's a long climb up to the Hollywood sign but so worth the view.

Read more about my adventures.

It's fun to share.

For more than 2 years I taught English as a second language to students in Seattle middle schools. These students had arrived without any English and were determined to fit into the public school system. What enthusiasm! They soaked up every English word I could give them, and I learned how to count to 10 in Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese. Share and share alike.

I'd love to help you.

Do you need a case study, a success story, or a profile? As a journalist, I've interviewed hundreds of people for newspaper stories. I know what questions to ask and what makes a compelling story.

Do you need a press release? Teaching has taught me to extract the most important points and express them clearly.

Do you need copy for your website? At Microsoft I was webmaster for the premier editing team in the company, creating user-friendly text and search engine optimization. Editors throughout the company came to our website to look for information, and they found it.

Whatever story you need told, I can help you communicate it clearly to your audience.
